Editor-in-Chief of The Egyptian Gazette and its weekly publication, Egyptian Mail, Mohamed Fahmy, participated in honouring a host ofschoolteachers and pupils during a ceremony that was held at the Teachers’ Syndicate in New Cairo earlier this week.
Those honoured during the ceremony included Ashraf el-Saeed el-Issawy and Mahmoud Ahmed Ibrahim Farag, two senior officials of the syndicate.
Those honoured also included 28 schoolteachers who reviewed the Educational Supplement of The Egyptian Gazette, a valuable asset for pupils at public, private and national schools.
Samy Hashem, the head of the Committee on Education at the House of Representatives, and Magda el-Bakri, first deputy of the committee, also participated in the ceremony, along with a large number of Ministry of Education officials in Cairo, including Eman Abdullah, the director of the Cairo Education Directorate, and Nasr el-Gendy, the education director in el-Shorouq.
Participating in the event were also senior officials ofthe Teachers’ Syndicate and the members of the Board of Trustees in New Cairo, including the Board’s Head Reda Abdel Hamid, along with the owners of a large number of private schools, such as Saleh Hegazi, owner of Farabi Language School, and Diaa Radwan, the Educational Supplement’s executive head.
Some of the teachers honoured obtained master’s degrees and PhDs.
Four-hundred students from New Cairo, el-Shorouk and Badr cities were also honoured for their educational excellence.
Assistant Editor-in-Chief of al-Gomhouria newspaper and the supervisor of The Gazette’s Educational Supplement, Mohamed Zein el-Deen, also participated in the ceremony.
The teachers honoured included Shaimaa Baghdady, Ismael Mahmoud, Ashraf eL-Essawy, Mahmoud Farag, and Wafaa Abo-Zeid.
They also included biology supervisor Khaled Sabry, science supervisor Fadia Abdelaziz, Chemistry Department Head Ahmed Ali el-Fekky, and Rasha Alaa el-deen, who works at the Egyptian Language School, Science Department Head at Dr. Nermien Ismail Schools Sherine Mohammed, Tarek Abdelaziz, chemistry teacher at Farabi School, Hend Mahmoud, a chemistry teacher at Agyal Integrated Language Schools, Adel Mohammed Anan, head of Chemistry Department at Future Language Schools Al Rehab and TV educational Programmes presenter, Basma Lasheen, biology teacher at Leaders Language School, Ola Ali, head of the Science Department at Akhnaton Egyptian Language Schools, Fayza Kamel, head of the Science Department at Dr. Magdy Yacoub Official Language School, Mahmoud Ismail, physics teacher at Madinaty Language School and Modern Schools of Egypt 2000, Essam Saad, Head of Chemistry and Science departments at Cairo Language School, Ayman Kamal El-deen, head of Science Department at Farabi School, Hossam Shaker, science and physics teacher at Bent Al-Shatea Government School.
A large number of other educational dignitaries also attended the event, such as Amr Mohamed Helmy,chemistry teacher at Manaret Al Farouk School, Hesham Ahmed, chemistry teacher at Osman Ebn Afan School, Manar el-Sayed and Rehab el-Meleegy,heads of the Science Department at Manaret Al Farouk Islamic Language School, Kareem Mohammed, Science teacher at Future School, Yehia Zakaria, head of the Science Department at Al Maadi School, and Hala el-Sayed, chemistry teacher at Madinaty School.
