Egypt’s Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem stressed that the printing and packaging sector plays a vital role in supporting industrial production.
He noted that it contributes to import substitution, increases local value-added and strengthens Egypt’s manufacturing base.
He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting the sector’s growth and technological development.
The minister made these remarks as he inaugurated on Thursday the 3rd edition of the TechnoPrint International Exhibition, a leading event for the printing and packaging industries.
The exhibition is being held under the patronage of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli from June 18 to 20.
Hashem described TechnoPrint as the first and largest trade exhibition dedicated to printing and packaging industries in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East.
The event covers 8,500 square metres and serves as a platform for manufacturers, suppliers, investors, entrepreneurs and industry professionals.
This year’s edition features 250 local and international companies and more than 200 brands.
Thousands of visitors are expected to attend, reinforcing the exhibition’s position as one of the region’s largest specialised industry gatherings.
The minister said the exhibition’s success in bringing together leading companies and technology providers demonstrates its role in transferring advanced technologies and modern machinery to the Egyptian market.
It also creates direct links between manufacturers and suppliers, supporting efforts to deepen local manufacturing and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products.
Hashem toured the exhibition halls and reviewed the latest machinery, production lines and smart digital solutions on display.
He also explored new technologies in inks, printing equipment and environmentally friendly printing materials.
The minister praised the progress made by Egypt’s printing and packaging industry, particularly in adopting digital systems and innovative printing technologies.
