Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production Salah Soliman Gomblat and CEO of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA), Basil Rahmi, discussed on Monday expanding co-operation in supporting SMEs.
The meeting is part of the state efforts to create new jobs, boost productivity, promote the national economy, and reduce imports, Minister Gomblat said.
He also reviewed the technological and manufacturing capabilities of the ministry’s affiliated companies, highlighting potential areas of co-operation across various industrial sectors.
Coordination with MSMEDA will help support young entrepreneurs in establishing projects, providing suitable locations and setting up factories to supplying production lines and necessary equipment, he added.
Technical consultations and feasibility studies can also be offered.
Project owners can benefit from vocational, administrative, and technical training through the ministry’s training sector or mobile training units, which have previously achieved strong results in co-operation with civil society.
The minister referred to ongoing studies related to mobile units produced by Factory 200.
For his part, the MSMEDA chief emphasised co-operation in providing specialised training programmes to help entrepreneurs expand their projects and increase production.
He also highlighted the ministry’s role in turning ideas into viable industrial projects and providing specialised industrial lines that ensure product quality and meet local market needs.
