The Tahya Misr Fund stepped up its Ramadan efforts through the presidential initiative “Abwab Al-Kheir” (Doors of Goodness), reaching 19 million beneficiaries across Egypt, following directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the initiative aims to ease the burden on low-income families and provide essential support during the holy month.
Executive Director of the Tahya Misr Fund,Tamer Abdel Fattah, highlighted the initiative’s achievements. Over three million dry food boxes were delivered directly to eligible households nationwide. In addition, four million hot meals were provided via 115 kitchens, and 25 communal Iftar tables were organised for fasting citizens.
The campaign also distributed nearly 300 tonnes of meat, 77 tonnes of vegetables, 5 tonnes of fruit, 10 tonnes of dates, and 30 tonnes of cheese, ensuring complete meals for beneficiaries throughout Ramadan, thanks to close collaboration with civil society organisations.
Abdel Fattah emphasised the Fund’s commitment to safe and nutritious meals and noted that operations followed a precise daily plan based on a comprehensive beneficiary database; ensuring aid reached those most in need.
He also highlighted the success of the permanent exhibition of the “Dukkan Al-Farha” (Joy Shop) initiative, which ran throughout Ramadan. The exhibition brought joy to over 46,000 families, allowing them to select clothing gifts for Eid al-Fitr.
The exhibition featured around 600,000 items, including new clothes, shoes, cooking utensils, bedding, blankets, school bags, and toys, meeting the diverse needs of the targeted families.
