Egypt’s Tahya Misr (Long Live Egypt) Fund launched a social protection convoy in Fayoum Governorate on Monday to support 10,000 vulnerable families in co-operation with the Salah El-Din Association.
The initiative provides a comprehensive package of humanitarian and social assistance aimed at improving living conditions and easing financial burdens, in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to expand social protection efforts nationwide.
The convoy was inspected by Fayoum Governor Mohamed Hany Ghoneim, local officials, and representatives of the Tahya Misr Fund and civil society organisations.
Tahya Misr Fund Executive Director Tamer Abdel Fattah said the initiative reflects the fund’s strategy of coordinating with state institutions and civil society to strengthen Egypt’s social safety net.
He noted that the convoy includes the Dokan El Farha (Shop of Joy) exhibition, offering 100,000 clothing items, shoes, household linens, accessories, children’s toys and school supplies, with each family able to choose 14 items free of charge.
The initiative also supports 10 vulnerable brides by providing essential marriage supplies, distributes 15 wheelchairs to people with disabilities, and delivers 1.5 tonnes of meat along with large quantities of staple food items.
The assistance targets beneficiaries across villages and towns in Fayoum, with distributions based on updated 2026 social welfare databases and field assessments to ensure support reaches eligible households.
