CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar announced that Suez University would take part in the Africa-UniNet project.
The project is executed by a number of Austrian and African universities to find sustainable and eco-friendly methods for getting rid of environmental pollutants and treating wastewater, according to a statement received by the minister on Thursday.
It comes as part of a partnership between Suez University and the Austrian Exchange Service (OeAD), the report said.
The report noted that the Suez University would participate in the project as a main partner with the Danube University Krems and the Johannes Kepler University Linz, as well as nine African universities.
A number of high-profile teaching staff at the Faculty of Science would represent the university in the project, the report noted.
The report stressed the university’s keenness to link its academic scientific and research plan with the country’s strategy for employing technology and science to serve energy, water, food and health projects.
