CAIRO – Sudanese Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism Khalid Al-Aiser underlined the strong bond between Egypt and Sudan, highlighting their shared destiny and closely aligned visions on a wide range of issues.
He highlighted that this relationship goes beyond geographic proximity, reflecting deep social ties between the two nations.
Speaking to eXtra News, the minister cited the recent meeting between Sudanese Prime Minister Kamil Eltayeb Idris and Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, which addressed several strategic topics.
Key discussions focused on the Nile River, regional security and stability in Sudan, and efforts to enhance support for the Sudanese community residing in Egypt.
Aiser affirmed the full consensus between the two countries on these issues, underlining their coordinated international positions and backing the existing agreements in trade, education, and culture.
He also commended the Egyptian government for its ongoing support of the Sudanese diaspora, particularly in education and residency services.
The talks further stressed the need for consistent coordination and consultation on regional security, with particular focus on the Red Sea.
Both sides rejected Ethiopia’s unilateral actions regarding the Blue Nile, deeming them inconsistent with international law and contrary to the spirit of cooperation necessary for managing the Nile River, a vital resource for all Nile basin countries.
They reaffirmed their commitment to preserving the Nile’s sustainability and protecting the water rights of downstream nations.
