Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa affirmed that the ministry has shouldered the responsibility of continuously developing its military products and introducing new defense systems that meet the requirements of the valiant Egyptian Armed Forces.
All efforts come in light of the commitment to implementing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to localize the latest military-manufacturing technologies within the ministry’s affiliated companies, contributing to Egypt’s ability to maintain its military superiority while sending a message of deterrence to anyone who may threaten the country’s security, and a message of reassurance to the Egyptian people that we possess the capability to safeguard our national security.
The military production minister announced the participation of the ministry with several new products being displayed for the first time within its pavilion at the fourth edition of the International Defense Exhibition “EDEX 2025,” held under the patronage of President Sisi.
He explained that at the forefront of these products is the “Ra’ad 300,” a tracked, multi-caliber guided rocket launcher capable of firing various calibers and engaging targets at ranges of up to 300 km. It operates on both paved and unpaved roads and can travel at a speed of 40 km/h.
The minister noted that the “Sina 806” is also among the latest products of the Ministry of Military Production’s companies.
The “Sina 806” is fitted with the tools and equipment necessary for repairs and includes storage compartments for spare parts. It has the same protection level as the armored vehicle itself. He added that it has been manufactured by Egyptian hands, 100% locally.
The minister explained that, for the first time, a light (4×4) vehicle has been fitted with the twin-barrel 23 mm anti-aircraft cannon after upgrading it to reduce recoil, making it usable against both ground and aerial targets and allowing it to be mounted on a lightweight vehicle.
He also revealed another new industrial achievement in the military field; the development of armored steel production.
The Ministry of Military Production has successfully manufactured and developed armored steel up to a thickness of 30 mm – compared to the previous limit of 15 mm – and in sheets measuring up to 240 cm in width, compared to the previous 150 cm.
He emphasized that localizing the technology for armored-steel production contributes to achieving self-sufficiency in a crucial material used in the manufacture of tanks and combat armored vehicles, making Egypt one of only six countries worldwide capable of producing this strategic product.
He added that the ministry’s pavilion at “EDEX 2025” includes a display of a scaled-down model of the 155 mm/52-caliber K9 A1 EGY howitzer system, which represents a model of strategic partnership with global companies to localize the latest manufacturing technologies within the ministry’s factories.
He confirmed that it is among the most advanced artillery systems in the world. The ministry is currently finalizing the establishment of the production line being equipped within one of its factories, which will handle the operation of the system. He noted that the first battalion will be delivered to the Armed Forces during the first half of 2026. He added that the 155 mm ammunition for the K9 howitzer has already been manufactured in the ministry’s factories.
Moreover, the minister pointed out that the “Ra’ad 200” rocket launcher has been upgraded by modifying its launcher-control system to make it hydraulic instead of electric, as previously displayed at the third edition of “EDEX 2023.”
The minister said the advancements witnessed in the military production sector in recent years, including the development of numerous industries, the introduction of new products designed and implemented by the ministry’s employees, and the localization of modern technologies are due to the unlimited support provided by the political leadership.
He said President Sisi’s directives serve as a roadmap that strengthens the role of the Ministry of Military Production in national industry.
The minister affirmed that future plans are in place to achieve further development and introduce new products that enhance the ministry’s role as an essential pillar of military manufacturing in Egypt.
