CAIRO – Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah Eddin Moustafa conducted a planned visit to Helwan Non-Ferrous Industries Company (Military Factory 63) to follow up on the production process and workers’ conditions in addition to reviewing development means.
During the visit, Mohamed Ashmawy, the Chairman of Helwan Non-Ferrous Industries Company, posted the minister on performance and productivity indicators as well as the contracts signed with various state institutions, and agreements with several international companies aimed at transferring the latest manufacturing technologies to the company’s production lines.
The minister stressed the importance of applying governance systems, rationalizing expenses, optimising resource use, and efficient operation of equipment and machinery.
Helwan Non-Ferrous Industries is a key industrial pillar within military production and utilizes surplus production for meeting civilian needs.
He underscored the importance of adhering to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to continuously localize modern manufacturing technologies across sectors, increase local content, and add value to the national economy.
This will go in parallel with ongoing comprehensive development of affiliated companies and units to improve production processes, quality levels, and workforce skills, he said.
This is meant to maximise the military production sector’s role in meeting armed forces’ needs and contributing to national development projects.
At the end of the visit, the minister held a meeting with the company’s workers, listened to their demands, and encouraged them to exert more efforts and increase production
He stressed the importance of adhering to project deadlines with the highest required quality.
He also urged attracting more private and foreign investments, highlighting the strong political leadership’s support for industry amid global challenges requiring intensified efforts.
