Commander of the Southern Military Region Major General Osama Samir Abdel Latif met on Tuesday a number of chieftains and residents of Halayeb and Shalateen. The step came in implementation of the Armed Forces General Command directives to strengthen ties with civil society in border regions.
Discussions during the meeting focused on efforts of the Armed Forces, in co-operation with various state institutions, to implement comprehensive development plans across multiple sectors, ensuring an improved quality of life for citizens in border areas.
The commander of the Southern Military Region conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Minister of Defence and Military Production General Abdel Meguid Saqr, and Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, to chieftains and residents of Halayeb and Shalateen cities.
He emphasised the Armed Forces’ unwavering commitment to maintaining continuous and direct engagement with the people of border governorates while providing them with comprehensive care and support. For their part, Halayeb and Shalateen residents praised the Armed Forces’ role in securing Egypt’s southern borders, as well as the government’s efforts across all sectors. They also commended the successful implementation of development projects aimed at improving living conditions in border areas
