Egyptian Minister of Labour Mohamed Gebran reaffirmed that ensuring a stable work environment and removing obstacles facing investors are fundamental pillars for boosting production and achieving sustainable economic development.

The remarks came during an expanded meeting held on Tuesday with representatives of leading ready-made garment manufacturers operating across Cairo, Alexandria, Sharqia, Beheira, Giza, Ismailia, Monufia, Qalyubia, and Port Said. The move came as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen direct engagement with investors in this strategic sector.

Gebran reiterated that the Ministry of Labour adopts an “open-door” policy to listen to all proposals and initiatives that support national industry, stressing the importance of constructive dialogue with manufacturers and investors.

During the meeting, the minister was briefed on the challenges facing factories and pledged to explore practical mechanisms to upgrade the industrial ecosystem in a way that contributes to increasing production and exports. He asserted the ministry’s commitment to providing full support to ensure factory stability and business continuity.

The meeting marks the start of a series of specialised, periodic gatherings aimed at following up on agreed outcomes, with a particular focus on addressing the specific challenges facing each geographic area to ensure the delivery of immediate and sustainable solutions.

Minister Gebran concluded by stressing that the Ministry of Labour is a genuine partner to industrialists, underscoring that joint action remains the primary pathway to increasing production and supporting the national economy.
