BEIJING/CAIRO – Egyptian Parliament Speaker Hanafy Gebaly asserted that the stability of the Middle East is at stake, adding that the region is closer to an extended regional war that Egypt warned against.
This came in Gebaly’s speech during his participation in a session under the rubric “holding to peace and stability for development and prosperity” held within the framework of the 6th high-level parliamentary seminar for the parliaments of developing countries organised by China’s National People’s Congress in cooperation with Inter-Parliamentary Union.
The world peace is facing unprecedented challenges with exceptional and complicated repercussions via conflicts in addition to challenges related to climate change and combating terror, Gebaly said.
The international accord on the importance of just international peace is intangible, he said, pointing out that the Palestinian cause is an example on this.
