Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi praised on Wednesday the victory achieved by Egypt’s football team against Australia in the group stage of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Egypt advanced to the quarterfinals of the men’s Olympic soccer tournament with a 2-0 victory over Australia. Argentina was even on points with Egypt, but the Pharaohs claimed second place in Group C on goal difference.
The sports minister congratulated the team players and head coach Shawqi Gharieb on the qualification.
