The ‘Capitano Egypt’ programme is one of the major projects to discover football talents, making use of the expertise of top sports figures, Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi said Saturday.
The programme includes extensive training for participants to hone their skills, while preparing them psychologically, building their character, and promoting their sense of loyalty and belonging, Sobhi added during a meeting with a group of young people participating in the programme, which is carried out by his ministry in co-operation with the United Media Services (UMS).
Expressing his best wishes for all participants, Sobhi promised to provide constant support to the programme, which is part of a bundle of programs pursued by the ministry to spot new talents in various sports, offer them comprehensive training based on scientific norms and standards, and prepare them for joining national teams.
The project technical manager and supervisors attended the meeting.
As many as 145 participants born in 2008 have passed the first stages of the program’s admission exams in Ismailia, Dakahlia, Assiut, Alexandria, Gharbia, Cairo, and Sharkia.
