Egypt’s Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy congratulated Egypt’s U-23 national football team on a 1-0 win over Guinea on Tuesday, reaching the final of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, and securing a berth in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Speaking to the national squad’s mission on this evening, Sobhy conveyed to the mission members the congratulations of the political leadership that has always looked at sports as a matter of national security, providing the national sports industry with all support at all events.
Thanks to effective planning and strategy followed by our national teams, as well as the support they get, the Egyptian sports industry is unfalteringly moving forward toward unprecedented achievements at the global level, the minister said.
Egypt are set to play the final on Saturday against the winner of the other semifinal clash between hosts Morocco and Mali.
