Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem el-Gazzar followed up on work progress to date in the Sour Magra el-Oyoun development project.
The project covers 79 buildings of varying heights with 1,924 housing units and 18 commercial units on the ground floor of some of the buildings.
Sour Magra el-Ayoun is in accordance with directives from the political leadership to restore the civilised splendour of the capital’s historical, cultural and tourist sites.
The construction of 77 buildings has been completed, while an administrative, entertainment and commercial area on 51,000 square metres is underway.
The complex will boast restaurants, cinemas, an open-air theatre and parking space for 1,300 vehicles.
The minister instructed senior officials and engineers in charge of the project to finish construction on schedule and in conformity with the highest global standards and specifications.
