Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine el-Qabbag issued a ministerial decision to form a committee to manage the assets of the Council for the Care of the Families of the Martyrs and the Injured, and to take the necessary measures to ensure providing all services to the families of the martyrs and the injured registered in the Council.
Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Social Protection Affairs Mervat Sabreen will chair the committee, alongside representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Central Auditing Organisation and the Central Agency for Organisation and Administration.
The move came in response to Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli’s decision to merge the National Council for the Care of the Families of the Martyrs and the Injured under the Ministry of Social Solidarity, to be authorised to supervise all its funds, bank accounts and commitments.
The premier issued decision No.2333 for 2023 to move all the authorities to the council, which was established by cabinet decision No.1485 for 2011, for the Social Solidarity Ministry, which will also adjust the positions of employees at the council.
Under Article III of the premier’s decree, the Ministry of Social Solidarity will coordinate all necessary decisions pertaining to the council with the Ministry of Finance and the Central Agency for Organisation and Administration.
El- Qabbag said that her ministry has developed a plan to train the Council’s workers, so that their function is not limited to disbursing the financial compensation decided by the government to the families of the martyrs and the injured, but rather extends to assisting them in benefiting from all social and health protection services.
El-Qabbag said her ministry would soon issue decisions regulating the rights and benefits of the families of the martyrs and the injured in co-ordination with the Ministry of Finance and relevant authorities.
