Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy on Saturday reviewed the efforts exerted by the ministry to support the Palestinian people in the humanitarian crises they have been facing since that start of war
Morsy was addressing a meeting of the Egyptian Red Crescent Board of Directors to discuss response efforts since January, when Egypt has contributed with the largest share of humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinians.
The meeting reviewed the services provided to the injured and their companions during that period, including medical examinations, dispensing medicines and personal hygiene kits, providing psychological support, health awareness, and restoring family ties, along with providing children’s supplies and food baskets.
The meeting tackled outcomes of a visit by President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Kate Forbes to Egypt and meetings with state officials and visiting the Egyptian Red Crescent’s general center.
She praised the Egyptian Red Crescent’s efforts in responding to humanitarian crises, especially as regards the Gaza crisis, stressing the importance of continuing to support the Egyptian Red Crescent in its humanitarian role.
