Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity has released a report on its preparations for the UN climate change conference (COP27) to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh in November.
The report is in three sections, of which the first covers preparation of wheelchair access to the conference halls, adapting the COP27 website for the visually impaired, the employment of sign language translators in the halls, and the printing of pamphlets about the event in Braille, Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine el-Kabbag said in a statement on Monday.
The second section deals with the 9,900 volunteer applications from Egyptian and African youth, including those with special needs.
The 1,000 successful candidates are being trained for the conference.
The last section refers to Civil Society Day, which will be organised as part of the conference to underscore the role of civil society in combating climate change.
A special pavilion, known as the Blue Area, has been allocated for civil society activities.
