Cairo- Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports signed on Sunday a co-operation protocol with the Decent Life Foundation for the empowerment of youth in the Egyptian countryside.
A series of programmes and projects will be launched by the ministry and the foundation within the protocol in the coming period in the light of the protocol.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhy, described the Decent Life initiative as one of the largest for the development of the Egyptian countryside.
“The initiative will not only develop the countryside at the structural level, but it also includes intellectual and cultural aspects,” the minister said.
He added that these cultural and intellectual aspects of the initiative compliment its structural parts.
He drew attention to the great importance President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attaches to the implementation of the initiative.
The minister also referred to the efforts the government and various state institutions make to complete this implementation.
Minister Sobhi revealed that the new protocol would open the door for the formation of a joint coordination committee with the Decent Life Foundation that would draw up the programmes necessary for the implementation of this protocol.
Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Decent Life Foundation, Aya Omar al-Qamari, appreciated, meanwhile, what she described as ‘fruitful’ co-operation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
She said the new protocol would give the chance to volunteers on both sides to assist in integrating efforts aiming at the empowerment of youth.
