Deputy Director General of the Egyptian Centre for Strategic Studies (ECSS) Mohamed Ibrahim el Deweri said that the official visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Qatar at an invitation from Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani represents a strong support to the Arab stance.
In statements to MENA on Wednesday, Deweri said that the visit is important as it is the first visit of Sisi to Qatar since taking office in 2014, adding that it comes in light of escalating crises at the regional and international levels.
The visit comes as part of the steps taken by both countries to turn over a new leaf in their relations, he said.
These steps assert the keenness of Egypt and Qatar to boost ties at the different economic and political levels, he said.
The vision adopted by President Sisi concerning the importance of activating the joint Arab work will be positively faced by the Qatari emir, he added.
This visit to Doha is one of the necessary steps to protect the Arab national security, he said, adding that it is an example on overcoming tactical disputes in order to achieve the strategic goals among the sisterly countries.
