CAIRO – Political leaderships said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s speech during Sudan’s Neighbouring Countries’ Summit that was held in Cairo has set a roadmap to solve the Sudanese crisis through respecting Sudanese sovereignty and stopping foreign interference in the country.
In statements, they stressed Egypt’s keenness on the stability of the neighbouring countries and their peoples’ prosperity.
Earlier, President Sisi called for preserving the Sudanese state institutions and protecting the country’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity as well as stopping foreign interference in its affairs.
In his speech at the summit, Sisi said the sharp deterioration in the humanitarian situation and the catastrophic repercussions of the Sudanese crisis require immediate and lasting cessation of military operations, which in turn could contribute to reaching an overall political solution that meets the Sudanese people’s aspirations.
The president lauded the noble position of Sudan’s neighboring countries that received hundreds of thousands of Sudanese refugees, amid a very difficult global economic situation.
He called on all international parties to fulfill their commitments and support the neighboring countries of Sudan that are most affected by the crisis.
