Sisi wraps up visit to Germany, heads for Serbia

BERLIN – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday wrapped up his visit to Germany and headed for Belgrade on an official visit to Serbia, which is the first of its kind by the president.

Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said Sisi’s visit to Belgrade aimed at holding intensive talks with his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vučić and the Serbian parliament speaker on means of enhancing mechanisms of political and economic relations between the two countries as well as coordinating stances on the regional and international levels.

During the visit, Sisi will also deliver a speech at Belgrade University on Egyptian-Serbian relations and means of maximizing them along with reviewing the determinants of Egyptian policy regarding regional and international issues.

In Germany, Sisi took part in the 13th Petersberg Climate Dialogue (PCD) upon an invitation from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz as part of preparations for the UN Climate Conference (COP27), due to be held in November in Sharm El Sheikh.

Sisi and Scholz also chaired a high-level dialogue session as part of the 13th PCD which was held under the co-chairmanship of Egypt and Germany.
