President Abdel Fattah El Sisi highlighted the necessity of ending the war in Gaza, halting the escalation, supporting the Palestinian people, and establishing the Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He said that Egypt is exerting strenuous efforts to clinch a ceasefire deal in Gaza, accentuating that Egypt will remain the gateway for delivering aid to the Palestinian people, not a gateway for their displacement.
During a joint press conference with Vietnamese President Luong Cuong at the Ittihadiya Palace on Tuesday, President Sisi said that the war on Gaza is no longer about achieving political goals or securing the release of hostages, but has gone beyond any logic or justification. It has become a war of starvation, genocide, and liquidation of the the Palestinian cause.
He expressed resentment at humanity’s inaction towards what is happening in the Gaza Strip, highlighting Egypt’s efforts to deliver aid to the Palestinian people.
Egypt has provided over 70 per cent of the aid delivered to Gaza over the past period, asserting that Egypt has never abandoned its supportive role for the Palestinian people.
