President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reiterated on Thursday Egypt’s full support of the efforts exerted by the Arab parliament to achieve its goals in light of the extraordinary circumstances the Arab world is passing through that requires rallying all efforts to preserve the interests of the Arab world.
President Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with President of the Arab Parliament Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi in the presence of Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafi el Gebali.
Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency Mohamed el Shennawi said President Sisi expressed appreciation for the role of the Arab parliament that serves as a platform for dialogue to enhance the interests of the Arab world.
The President lauded relentless efforts by members of the parliament to bolster inter-Arab ties in a way that serves the mechanism of Arab common action.
Yamahi lauded the pioneering role played by Egypt’s leadership and people in serving the Arab national security, especially its efforts to restore the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, set free captives and detainees and let in sufficient quantities of humanitarian aid into the coastal enclave.
He expressed hope of benefiting from Egypt’s parliamentarian experiment and step up programs of joint cooperation with the Egyptian side to develop the performance of the Arab parliament.
