Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Sunday a phone call from President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
The two leaders exchanged visions on ways of dealing with the Ukrainian crisis to overcome the issues of power shortage and food insecurity.
President Sisi has voiced Egypt’s keenness to boost relations with the European Union as a strategic partner in all fields.
During a phone call with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Sisi said Egypt seeks to coordinate with the EU on issues of mutual concern at the regional and international levels, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
The two leaders exchanged visions on ways of dealing with the Ukrainian crisis to overcome the issues of power shortage and food insecurity.
They agreed to outline an initiative and coordinate efforts in this regard.
The EU commissioner stressed the bloc’s desire to boost relations with Egypt in various fields in light of challenges besetting the Mediterranean region.
The two sides also expressed satisfaction with the level of relations between Egypt and EU at the political, economic and development levels.
