President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has urged immediate start of carrying out the New Delta project in order to boost the state’s strategy in forming and establishing new agricultural and urban communities characterized by modern administrative systems.
The President’s remarks came during his meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Agriculture el-Sayed el-Qaseer and a host of top government officials, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
During the meeting, the President reviewed the infrastructure plans and equipment that the Armed Forces Engineering Authority will supervise, including roads, services, drainage stations, electricity supply, and water paths to transport irrigation water.
Minister of Agriculture el-Qaseer highlighted the Ministry’s vision on ways to protect food security and support the agricultural sector which is based mainly on the principle of food security and the production of foodstuffs locally with a view to saving the cost of importing them from abroad.
