President Abdel Fattah El Sisi made a tour Friday of worksites for the upgrade and the construction of roads and bypasses in different areas in the Egyptian capital.
The president’s tour took him to the el-Shahid and Shinzo Abe axes which connect Nasr City, eastern Cairo with the 5th Settlement in New Cairo, the new urban communities along the Suez Road and New Administrative Capital road, Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
He said road projects in these areas have helped ease the movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
The president also listened to an explanation about the ongoing upgrade of el-Amal (Hope) City, a process that includes the roads and the services for the city.
President Sisi also made a tour of the Child Garden in Nasr City which is being fully modernised, Ambassador Radi said.
The president exchanged a few friendly words with a woman who happened to be in the garden at the time.
The lady presented the president with some demands, the Presidential Advisor said.
President Sisi also talked with an executive official at one of the sites in the 5th Settlement who briefed him about progress on some of the projects in the area.
The president instructed executives working in and overseeing the projects to offer all required services to motorists and those using the new roads.
The new road projects play an important role in boosting development, organising traffic and speeding up the movement of pedestrians and vehicles, Ambassador Radi quoted the president as saying.
