CAIRO – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted Egypt looks forward to strengthening ties with Russia at all levels, citing major joint projects, topped by El Dabaa Nuclear Plant and the Russian Industrial Zone in the Suez Canal.

In a phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Sisi said such projects solidify the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and Russia and boost friendship between the two peoples, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady noted.

The call touched on the current situation in Libya. In this regard, President Sisi underlined Egypt continues its efforts to help Libya overcome the transitional period.

The two sides agreed on intensifying efforts and coordination to settle the Libyan crisis, combating the terrorist groups and armed militias there, and put an end to the foreign interference in the Libyan affairs.

Putin, for his part, said Russia pays attention to developing relations with Egypt in the coming period in light of the strategic cooperation and partnership agreement between the two countries
