Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will leave for Berlin, Germany, later Sunday to attend the Petersberg Climate Dialogue (PCD), slated for Monday, said presidential spokesman Bassam Rady.
The PCD will be co-chaired by Egypt and Germany.
The PCD is considered an important stop ahead of the next climate summit (COP27), due to take place in the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Sharm el Sheikh in November, Rady noted.
Egypt has been invited to co-chair the PCD in appreciation of its vital role over the past years regarding climate change talks, the spokesman said.
During his visit to Germany, President Sisi is also set to meet with a number of German officials, including Chancellor Olaf Scholz, to discuss means of boosting bilateral relations at all levels, Rady added.
