Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is set to inaugurate a comprehensively renovated Al-Hussain Mosque, where the shrine of Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, sits.
Mufaddal Saifuddin, Sultan of the Indian Bohra community, is attending the inauguration ceremony with his brothers and sons.
Al-Hussain Mosque has been completely renovated following directives by Sisi, said presidential spokesman Bassam Radi on Wednesday, noting that that the renovation work includes repairing of the shrines of Imam Hussain, Al Sayeda Nafisa and Al Sayeda Zainab.
The interior of the Mosque has also been refurbished to better show the architectural decorations, while maintaining the historical and spiritual characteristics of the shrines, Radi added.
He noted that services have also been promoted, including roads, squares and entrances leading to Al-Hussain Mosque.
