Sisi to Armenian PM: Egypt exerts efforts to achieve immediate ceasefire in Gaza

At a jointi press conference with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at Ittihadiya Presidential Palace, El Sisi said that he discussed with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan the efforts made by Egypt to achieve an immediate ceasefire in the occupied Gaza Strip and to achieve calm in the West Bank to enable the settlement of the Palestinian issue through a sovereign Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with its capital in East Jerusalem, in accordance with relevant international legitimacy resolutions and to bring about peace and coexistence in the region instead of wars, destruction, and ruin.

He pointed out that today’s discussions confirmed the mutual desire of both countries to increase the volume of trade exchange and investment presence, commensurate with the distinguished level of their political relations, through exploring new areas of cooperation, especially in the fields of information technology, artificial intelligence, food, and pharmaceutical industries.

El-Sisi also stated that during the talks, Egypt reaffirmed its readiness to transfer Egyptian expertise in infrastructure, construction, transportation, and energy production to the Armenian side and discussed ways to benefit from the expertise of Armenian companies in the field of artificial intelligence.

He highlighted the importance of revitalizing the existing institutional mechanisms between the two countries, especially the Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation and the Business Forum, in enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the coming period, expressing Egypt’s pride in the level of cooperation and continuous coordination between the two sides in various international forums.

El-Sisi expressed his happiness at receiving the Prime Minister of Armenia and his accompanying delegation on a visit that confirms the mutual interest and determination of both sides to enhance and develop their joint cooperation to serve the interests of their peoples and to build on the historical ties that connect the two countries, which date back to Egypt’s historical hosting of tens of thousands of Armenians who lived in Egypt and contributed to enriching Egyptian society in many political, economic, cultural, and artistic fields.

He also expressed his hope that this visit would be a key step towards enhancing and developing mutual cooperation in all fields between the two friendly countries, enriching the historical relations and ties between their peoples.
