The President also stressed to the students the importance of developing awareness of the present changes and challenges, whether domestically or regionally and internationally.

This should come in parallel with developing their scientific and academic level and developing their capabilities to keep pace with the current and future development of the labour market.

Meanwhile, President Sisi held a meeting with the Supreme Council of Universities at Kafr El-Sheikh University headquarters.

During the meeting, the president affirmed that the state fully supports the university system and appreciates its important role as it believes that distinguished and advanced university education is the locomotive of progress that leads nations to a better future.

The President also directed the Supreme Council of Universities to strengthen mechanisms for sponsoring and supporting talented and outstanding students in order to build a generation of distinguished cadres capable of making innovative contributions to the country’s sustainable development process and to the consolidation of knowledge, innovation and creativity in the society.

President Sisi, meanwhile, emphasised that activities within universities be geared to building the students’ personality, enhancing their awareness and understanding the challenges and opportunities in Egypt.

For their part, the members of the Supreme Council of Universities expressed their honour to meet the President and their appreciation for his keenness to enhance the role of Egyptian universities in forming a pool of young people who are able to compete in the labour market and achieve community needs and comprehensive development plans.
