President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has called for developing the capacity building programmes for public servants, starting from designing training programmes for senior leaders and ending with training young leaders.

The president’s remarks came Tuesday during his meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el-Saeed, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.

During the meeting, the president said that those programmes aimed at developing human resources as well as updating the job descriptions of all government employees, in order to achieve the optimal use of available human energies.

The president directed the government to continue to conduct studies on the repercussions of coronavirus pandemic on the economic performance locally and internationally to crystallise the future scenarios in this respect. This comes with a view to ensuring continuous improvement of economic and financial indicators at the national level as well as to overcome any challenges that may hinder the sustainability of the positive results achieved from the implementation of the economic reform programme.

Minister of Planning el-Saeed briefed the president on the development of economic indicators in Egypt and the world since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and the economic situation locally and globally during the coming period.

Data showed a sharp contraction in global economic growth in 2020, taking into account that the tourism sector was one of the most affected sectors in the world in addition to the decline in both foreign direct investment and global trade growth rates, the minister said.
