MADRID- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez signed on Wednesday a joint declaration to elevate the two countries’ relations to the “strategic partnership” level.
The signing came following a session of talks at the Spanish government headquarters in Madrid.
Earlier in the day, the Spanish Prime minister received President Sisi upon arrival at the Spanish government HQ in Madrid.
The two countries are scheduled to sign memorandums of understanding in the fields of tourism, transport, infrastructure and immigration.
Sisi started on Tuesday a visit to Spain with an aim to enhance bilateral ties, especially in the economic, investment and trade domains, in addition to coordinating stances with Spain with regard to the Palestinian cause.
