President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Saturday 14/12/2024 US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and National Security Council Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa Brett McGurk.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, Head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service (GIS) Hassan Rashad, and US Ambassador to Cairo Herro Mustafa Garg, Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy said in a statement.The meeting reviewed regional developments and efforts by both sides to reach a ceasefire agreement and facilitate the exchange of detainees in Gaza.
President Sisi emphasized the urgent need to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, particularly with the onset of winter.The discussions also reaffirmed the two-state solution as a fundamental guarantee for achieving peace and stability in the Middle East.
The meeting also reviewed the implementation and maintenance of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon as a cornerstone for broader regional de-escalation efforts.Additionally, the developments in Syria were discussed, with President Sisi highlighting the paramount importance of preserving Syria’s territorial integrity, unity, and the security of its people.
The meeting underscored the depth of strategic relations between Egypt and the United States and the commitment of both nations to continue strengthening these ties to serve their mutual interests.
