President Abdel Fattah El Sisi called for developing and expanding the 6th of October Bridge Corridor and the surface roads below it, as part of the state’s efforts to develop the road network and corridors in Cairo.
The President’s remarks came during his meeting with Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed as well as a host of top government officials, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
During the meeting, the President followed up the construction and engineering situation of a number of projects being implemented by the engineering authority nationwide, including the New Administrative Capital and its facilities, especially the Egyptian Islamic Cultural Centre and the engineering designs for the murals and halls therein.
In this context, the President directed that the designs of the Egyptian Islamic Cultural Centre and Egypt’s Mosque should reflect the ancient Egyptian Islamic history and its extension throughout the ages.
The meeting also dealt with the progress of work on a number of national construction projects, especially road and corridor projects, including the River Nile hubs in Samannoud, Manfalut and Luxor, which are part of a project to establish an integrated network of axes on the Nile to connect its two banks nationwide to ease the daily heavy traffic and facilitate trade flows.
