Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday received Secretary General of the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Mathias Cormann in the presence of Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el-Saeed.
Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said Sisi praised current co-operation between Egypt and OECD, asserting the importance of such co-operation that comes in line with the sustainable development plans of Egypt and its vision for 2030, in addition to providing technical support to economic reform programs on the various axes, as Egypt has been seeking to benefit from policies of experienced international foundations.
Meanwhile, Cormann commended the fruitful co-operation with the Egyptian government, noting that Egypt’s Country Programmee signed in 2021 is the biggest of its kind in the history of OECD as Cairo enjoys relative privileges and vast opportunities at the economic and development levels, added the spokesman.
The spokesman also noted the meeting covered means of bolstering co-operation between Egypt and OECD to achieve sustainable and comprehensive economic growth in the fields of innovation, digital transformation, governance, combating corruption, statistics and follow-up, and sustainable development.
