Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a series of phone calls on Friday from several international leaders, including President Gustavo Petro of Colombia, President Kais Saied of Tunisia, and His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Tabuk Region in Saudi Arabia.

According to the official spokesperson for the Presidency, the discussions reflected the strength of Egypt’s ties with its international partners. The conversations addressed bilateral relations and regional developments, in addition to an exchange of greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

During his call with President Petro, the two leaders reviewed the current state of bilateral relations. President Sisi expressed his appreciation for the steady development of ties, particularly following the Colombian president’s visit to Egypt in October 2025. Both sides affirmed their commitment to further enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including cultural and educational exchange, tourism, civil aviation, energy, trade, and investment.

The discussion also covered regional developments, with Sisi outlining Egypt’s ongoing efforts to contain escalating tensions and prevent broader instability. He reiterated Egypt’s firm support for the security and stability of Arab states and its categorical rejection of any violations of their sovereignty. President Petro commended Egypt’s de-escalation efforts and expressed his hope for a swift restoration of regional stability.

Regarding the Gaza Strip, President El Sisi praised Colombia’s supportive stance toward the Palestinian cause. He highlighted Egypt’s efforts to sustain the ceasefire, facilitate the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, and advance early recovery and reconstruction. The two leaders also discussed the situation in the West Bank, where Sisi stressed the necessity of resuming negotiations to achieve a just and comprehensive settlement based on the establishment of a Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

In a separate call, President Saied extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to President Sisi, wishing prosperity and blessings for the Egyptian and Tunisian peoples, as well as the wider Arab and Islamic nations. President Sisi expressed his appreciation for the gesture and conveyed his reciprocal greetings to the Tunisian leadership and people.

The two leaders also discussed current regional developments, agreeing on the importance of de-escalation given its significant impact on regional security, stability, and economic conditions. They further reviewed fraternal bilateral relations, underscoring the importance of strengthening cooperation to serve the interests of both nations and advance regional prosperity.

Similarly, Prince Fahd bin Sultan extended Eid greetings to President Sisi, wishing that the occasion would bring goodness and blessings to the Egyptian and Saudi peoples. Sisi expressed his appreciation and extended his congratulations in return.

During the call, President El Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for Saudi Arabia amid current regional challenges, wishing the Kingdom continued security and prosperity under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
