Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Thursday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and Minister of Justice Omar Marwan to review Awqaf Ministry’s efforts to maximize revenues of Awqaf Authority, train imams
The meeting touched on efforts exerted by the Ministry of Awqaf to maximize revenues of the Awqaf Authority, as well as to train and qualify imams, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
The awqaf minister reviewed the authority’s net revenues which amounted to some EGP 1.429 billion so far in the current fiscal year.
On that score, President Sisi issued directives for proceeding with the Awqaf Authority’s efforts to maximize and properly invest its revenues.
He also gave orders for taking all necessary measures to swiftly enforce court rulings in favor of the Awqaf Authority, with a view to preserving its properties.
Meanwhile, Sisi directed the awqaf minister to speedily develop advanced training programs and select the most brilliant imams, in order to form a generation of religious thinkers, along with rational, enlightened and moderate religious opinion makers.
