Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reiterated Egypt’s full support for all efforts that would achieve the supreme interest of Libya, preserve the unity and sovereignty and activate the free will of its people.
The president’s remarks came during his meeting on Tuesday with head of the Libyan Presidential Council Mohamed Menfi. The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri, Head of the General Intelligence Service Abbas Kamel and Libya’s permanent representative to the Arab League Ambassador Abdulmutallab Thabet, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
For his part, Mr Menfi praised Egypt’s vital role, its tireless and sincere efforts to restore security and stability in Libya and unify state institutions, especially the military represented by the Libyan National Army.
Menfi also presented the current political situation in Libya, noting that it was agreed to intensify consultation and coordination between the two sides during the coming period to follow up on developments in the political process and procedures for managing the transitional phase.
This will come in a way that helps restore Libya’s stability and unify its institutions and for the Libyan people to have complete control over their country’s capabilities.
