President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has stressed Egypt’s support for all efforts to reach a just and lasting solution between the Palestinian and Israeli sides in order to achieve a comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
The President‘s remarks came during a phone call he had Monday with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on the occasion of assuming his duties, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
During the call, the President also stressed the importance of preventing the escalation of tension between the Palestinians and Israelis, supporting Egyptian efforts for reconstruction in the Palestinian territories and the development of bilateral relations.
For his part, the Israeli Prime Minister expressed thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by Egypt to achieve security and stability in the region, its recent ceasefire agreement and its sponsorship of prisoner exchange negotiations.
He also praised the results achieved since the two countries signed the peace agreement under American auspices.
