Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Saturday a message from his Eritrean counterpart Isaias Afwerki on means of promoting bilateral ties in various domains.
The message highlighted the amicable relations binding the two countries.
The Eritrean president also underlined the importance of intensifying coordination and consultations in light of ongoing regional developments and challenges.
Presidential Adviser Ahmed Fahmy said this came during President Sisi’s meeting with Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh and Presidential Adviser Yemane Gebreab.
The meeting was attended by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and General Intelligence chief Abbas Kamel.
The talks tackled the latest regional developments of mutual concern, especially with regard to the conditions in Sudan and Horn of Africa.
Meanwhile, Sisi voiced appreciation for the Eritrean president, stressing Egypt’s keenness on enhancing ties with Eritrea and coordinating efforts on regional security issues.
Sisi highlighted the importance of promoting cooperation and joint projects in various development projects.
