CAIRO – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Thursday visiting Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at al Ittihadiya Palace.
An official reception ceremony was held where the national anthems of both countries were played.
The visit coincides with the centennial anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between both countries.
Presidential spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said that the talks will tackle distinguished bilateral ties and joint coordination in international gatherings.
Both leaders will discuss joint efforts to develop and reform the international governance system in light of the membership of Egypt and Brazil in BRICS in addition to Brazil’s presiding over G20 this year and inviting Egypt as a guest to the meetings of the group.
