President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Shell, one of the world’s leading energy companies, during a high-level meeting held on Thursday. The meeting was attended by Shell CEO Wael Sawan, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, and Chairperson and CEO of Shell Egypt, Dalia El Gabry.
President Sisi commended the long-standing collaboration between Shell and Egypt’s petroleum sector, emphasizing the company’s important role in advancing energy development and supporting Egypt’s broader economic goals.
According to Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El Shennawi, Shell’s CEO expressed deep appreciation for the continued support of the Egyptian leadership, reaffirming Shell’s commitment to long-term investment and strategic cooperation in the country’s oil and gas industry.
The discussion focused on expanding current initiatives and deepening collaboration. President Sisi highlighted Egypt’s efforts to enhance the investment environment by implementing reforms, streamlining regulations, and addressing challenges faced by international investors. He further stressed the importance of honoring financial commitments to international partners as a foundation for mutual trust and long-term cooperation.
The President also urged Shell to intensify its exploration and development activities within its concession areas in Egypt, with the aim of increasing production capacity and fully leveraging the potential of the country’s energy resources.
Shell’s CEO reiterated the company’s strong interest in expanding its presence in Egypt and exploring new opportunities within the nation’s dynamic energy sector. He also praised the Egyptian government’s proactive approach to facilitating foreign investment and removing barriers to business operations.
