President Abdel Fattah El‑Sisi received Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Cairo on Thursday.
The Presidency spokesman Mohamed El‑Shenawy said President Sisi conveyed greetings to the Emir of Qatar Tamimbin Hamad Al‑Thani, and praised the progress in Egypt–Qatar relations. He expressed Egypt’s readiness to facilitate increased Qatari investments and build on the outcomes of the joint high committee to expand cooperation in political, trade and investment sectors.
PM meets Qatari counterpart to probe ways to boost ties
Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli received Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al‑Thani at the government headquarters in New Alamein on Thursday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral co-operation and review issues of mutual interest.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the seventh session of the Egypt–Qatar joint high committee, with ministers and senior officials from both sides attending.
Egypt, Türkiye, Qatar condemn recent Israeli attacks on Gaza, killing civilians
Egypt, Türkiye and Qatar, acting in their capacity as mediating countries, strongly condemn the recent Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, which have resulted in the loss of civilian lives, including women and children.
In a joint statement, the three countries express deep concern over the continuing violations.
The mediators stress that the escalation of Israeli attacks undermines regional and international efforts at a critical juncture, as intensive efforts are under way to implement the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict.
Egypt advances 3,000MW electricity interconnection project with Europe via Italy
The Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy is closely following progress by Emirati company K&K towards completing the final studies for the electricity interconnection project between Egypt and Europe via Italy, paving the way for implementation.
Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Dr Mahmoud Esmat met on Thursday K&K Chairman Tag el-Din Moustafa Seif at the ministry’s headquarters in El Alamein to review developments in the project, which will use submarine cables to support the export of clean energy to European markets. The meeting was attended by the Ministry’s Legal Advisor, Counsellor Amgad Saeed.
