BERLIN -Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met here on Sunday Peter Lürssen, owner and board chairman of German boatbuilder Lürssen, to discuss cooperation in the maritime industry.
During the meeting, Sisi stressed the importance Egypt attaches to promoting co-operation with the German company, a highly reputed global shipbuilding mogul with broad experience in this industry, according to a statement by Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady.
Egyptian Ambassador in Berlin Khaled Galal attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, Lürssen expressed pride in the company’s joint cooperation history with Egypt, highlighting the promising Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) opportunities in Egypt, especially in light of the comprehensive development the country has been witnessing in all infrastructure sectors.
The two sides reviewed joint cooperation frameworks related to shipyard development, technical training programs, and enhancing Egyptian cadres’ abilities in these areas.
