PARIS – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi participated in a roundtable titled “New Way .. Green Growth Partnerships” as part of activities of the international summit for a New Global Financial Pact, currently hosted by the French capital Paris Thursday.
President Sisi’s participation in this important event comes at an invitation by French President Emmanuel Macron as part of growing, deep-rooted strategic relations binding Egypt and France and Egypt’s pivotal role at the level of emerging economies in general.
During the Paris summit, President Sisi will concentrate on different issues that concern developing countries.
Macron had stated earlier the summit aims to provide the establishment of a fund to compensate for the effects of climate change suffered by developing countries, France 24 reported.
The initial aim of this week’s Summit for a New Global Financial Pact was to establish concrete measures to finance this fund. “From now on, the battle against poverty, the decarbonization of our economy and the fight for biodiversity will be very closely linked,” Macron said.
