Sisi oversees oath of new governors

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday witnessed the swearing in ceremony of new governors and their deputies at the Presidential Palace in Cairo’s Heliopolis district, in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad.

The newly-appointed governors are:

– Dr. Mohamed Salman Moussa Ibrahim el-Zamlout, Governor of Matrouh.

– Dr. Ahmed Abdullah el-Hussein Mohamed el-Ansari, Governor of Giza.

– Ibrahim Ahmed Ibrahim Shahawy Abu Limoun, Governor of Port Said.

– Dr. Mohamed Hany Gamal el-Din Ghoneim, Governor of Fayoum.

– Dr. Alaa Ibrahim Abdel-Moaty Ahmed, Governor of Gharbia.

– Dr. Ismail Mohamed Kamal Ismail, Governor of South Sinai.

– Eng. Ayman Mohamed Ibrahim Ahmed Attia, Governor of Alexandria.

– Hanan Magdy Nour el-Din Mohamed, Governor of New Valley.

– Dr. Hossam el-Din Fawzy Abdel-Fattah Abu Seif, Governor of Damietta.

– Eng. Amr Helmy Hassan Lashin, Governor of Aswan.

– Nabil el-Sayed Mohamed Hasaballah, Governor of Ismailia.

– Amr Mohamed El-Sayed El-Gharib, Governor of Menoufia.

– Ibrahim Abdel Qader Makki Mahgoub, Governor of Kafr El Sheikh.

– Hani Rashad Ali El Sayed, Governor of Suez.

– Dr. Mustafa Selim Amin Abdel Zaher El Beblawi, Governor of Qena.

– Tarek Rashed Mohamed Mahfouz, Governor of Sohag.

– Mohamed Sayed Hassan Alwan, Governor of Assiut.

– Abdullah Abdel Aziz Abdel Rahman el-Sayed, Governor of Beni Suef.

– Dr. Hossam el-Din Ahmed Abdel Fattah Mohamed Ali, Governor of Qalyubia.

– Dr. Walid Abdel Azim Ibrahim el-Barqi, Governor of Red Sea.

– Dr. Ahmed Anwar Attia el-Adl, Deputy Governor of Cairo.

– Kamal Suleiman Mahmoud Ahmed, Deputy Governor of Sohag.

– Omar Mahmoud el-Shafei el-Akrat, Deputy Governor of Cairo.

– Osama Rizk Mohamed Mansour Daoud, Deputy Governor of Aswan.

– Mohamed Neama Abdo Morsi Kagak, Deputy Governor of New Valley.

– Dr. Hussein Mohamed Maghrabi Salama, Deputy Governor of Dakahlia.

– Dr. Amira Yassin Mohamed Heikal, Deputy Governor of Alexandria.

– Dr. Shadi Yahya Abdel-Azim el-Mashad, Deputy Governor of Beheira.

– Eng. Hossam el-Din Abdo Mohamed Mohamed, Deputy Governor of Gharbia.

– Dr. Mohamed Ali Mohamed Talab Ali Gabr, Deputy Governor of Minya.

– Dr. Mohamed Fawzi Hassan Abdel-Rahim, Deputy Governor of Damietta.

– Mohamed Abdullah Mohamed Allam Zeidan, Deputy Governor of Suez.

Following the oath-taking, the newly-appointed governors and their deputies posed for a photo-op with the president, said Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el-Shennawy.

President Sisi then held a meeting with the new governors and their deputies.

At the beginning of the meeting, President Sisi congratulated the new governors and their deputies and stressed the importance of making optimal use of each governorate’s resources and tools to achieve tangible results that serve the public interest.

The president directed the new governors to work with dedication and integrity, away from favoritism, to be fully aware of local challenges and benefit from the support of deputy governors and executive bodies, while taking into account the unique characteristics of each governorate.

The spokesman added that President Sisi called for continued communication with citizens, serious consideration of complaints and requests, proper management of available resources and close cooperation with investors and business leaders.

Sisi further highlighted the importance of transparency, constant communication with the government and members of the Parliament and the Senate, as well as direct communication with the presidency when necessary.

The president instructed the governors to pay attention to the legalization of violations, wastewater and drinking water stations, electricity services, while ensuring the regular operation of schools. He also called for promoting sports culture and strengthening cooperation with civil society.

President Sisi underscored the need for governors to personally supervise cleanliness campaigns, complete projects under the Decent Life (Haya Karima) rural development initiative, monitor bakery operations and maintain a field presence to address citizens’ concerns.

The president ordered the governors to have effective oversight of housing projects, take strict action against encroachments on agricultural land and irrigation canals, and eradicate slums and building violations, while prioritizing urban planning and visual identity.

Finally, President Sisi underlined the significance of continued development of local resources, implementing designated projects and removing obstacles in tourist destinations.
