Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has directed to take the required procedures to motivate the private sector to contribute to developing the aviation sector.

The president’s remarks came Saturday during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El Hefny.

President Sisi also directed to intensify efforts to upgrade the aviation system, including the development of Cairo International Airport to double its capacity to be able to accommodate up to 60 million travelers a year under the global standards to contribute to achieving economic development under the Egypt Vision 2030.

The president was briefed on development efforts of the civil aviation industry, including upgrading the air navigation system, the fleet and the infrastructure of airports to provide travelers with better services.

The meeting also touched upon current efforts to develop the aviation sector to cope with growing numbers of tourists visiting Egypt in addition to carrying out sustainable aviation fuel projects to reduce CO2 emissions and protect the environment, Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
